Costume Props Policy
Rules & Restrictions, re: Costume Props
Costumes are welcome and encouraged at Ghosts of Summer, but please be aware of the following restrictions.
Functional weapons and realistic firearm props are prohibited at Ghosts of Summer.
Simulated or costume weapons are allowed, subject to approval by onsite security and compliance with the following:
All costume props and weapons must conform to state and federal law.
Projectile costume props and weapons must be rendered inoperable.
Props resembling firearms must have toy indicators visible at all times, including a brightly colored cap on the barrel, and must be tied to your costume in such a way that they can’t be drawn.
Functional arrows must have their tips removed.
Costume blades must be a blunt, non-metal material and tied to your costume in such a way that they can’t be drawn.
Do not brandish weapons or props in a threatening manner at any time.*
All prop weapons are to be put away outside of the convention areas.
If you do not adhere to these restrictions, you will be removed from the venue.
*This rule does not apply to performers within the Scare Zone and posing for photos
